Rita Choula, Director, Caregiving with AARP Public Policy Institute
Rita Choula is Director, Caregiving with AARP Public Policy Institute. She manages and provides content expertise on internal and external family caregiving initiatives with a specific focus on identifying and supporting the needs of multicultural family caregivers — and her own experience of caring for her own mother has deeply influenced her career and her work.
Ms. Choula bridges policy to practice by working with external partners to provide health and social services professionals with programs and tools to support family caregivers. Through the Home Alliance, she recently developed and produced a series of instructional videos designed to support family caregivers who perform complicated medical nursing tasks.
Ms. Choula holds a master’s degree in the Management of Aging Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
